Vintage sampler blanket: Medallion lace square
I’ve got a two of beautiful knitting books from the 1940s.

It’s fun knitting patterns from them, and I be fond of making my own designs inspired by this circuit:

For a while now I’ve been object to knit up the sew patterns in these books, as I expend a lot of time experimenting with distinct patterns, only to frog or be deprived of them.

I’ve unhesitating to make a pattern blanket using vintage sew patterns. Recording all the distinct parts here will mean a in reality useable databank of stitches will fabricate up and might actually not get not to be found! The stitches will be knitted in 6″ squares, with appearance of truth all in dk yarn.
This is the first quadrilateral and equiangular; a medallion lace original. It is made in Rowan wool raw cotton using 4mm needles. For a 6″ quadrilateral and equiangular I cast on 42 stitches and connect 46 rows.

Here’s the original. It requires a sum up of stitches separable by 8, more 2 edge stitches.
1st row: K1, p3, *k2, p6; rep from * to last 6 sts, k2, p3, k1.
2nd row: K4, p2, *k6, p2; rep from * to last 4 sts, k4.
3rd row: As 1st row.
4th row: As 2nd row.
