The Killing Floor

Okay, I'm gonna do good in a higher degree about keeping this blog up-to-era. Really. I am. See? I'm already irksome. But where to begin?? Hmmm....the inauguration, I guess.

Some weeks ago, after a specially unproductive ground with That Other Guy I used to be vision, I tore out part of the dining field carpet in a fit of rage and disappointment. Yep, just part of it. And it stayed that way for about three weeks while I worked a lot of overtime and then worn out a few blessedly recharging days with my sister. (We made Waldorf salad every day. Every. One only. Day. This is just one of the many reasons I have affection for my sister.) Anyway, I lastly got around to tearing up the quiet of the carpet and dragging it surface for the trash man, with whom I had a 7 a.m. debating about what is meant by "one of great size item" being allowed on according to rule trash day. (I won, by the way.) So then I worked some more overtime, and then I met the Black Guy, and more because of him than the OT, the dining extent floor was kind of forgotten. Except when I was indeed walking across it and the old carpet pad that turned to argillaceous earth crunched under my feet and I trailed swarthy dust through my kitchen. And then today I stepped on a cent staple pointing direct up out of the hardwood put a floor on. With my bare lower extremity. Nothing like private injury to point me to action. So I scraped off the quiet of the yucky carpet pad with a 4-twelfth part of a foot putty knife and started levering up the append strip. Then the cover with a floor-length drapes got in the way, so I hauled the ladder out of the entryway (where it's been patiently tarrying for me to climb back up it and cut chips from away the ease of the paint-covered wallpaper in there) and took them down.
