After creating Peregrine from a fair piece of antique mohair earlier this year, I couldn't oppose purchasing some more awesome vintage mohair when it was made to be availed of to me a few weeks ago. I also had the beneficial fortune to bargain for some original Full boot button leather eyes! There's something very exciting about formation a teddy uphold from such venerable physical and it really is a claim to be able to fetch it back to life!

I've been working with an portentous piece from my new antique fabric stash this week; it has a beauteous patina and a invented tapestry devise woven through it. So far, this has been a claw biting employment because parts of the fabric have been a small too frail for drift and of course, I wanted to utilise the arras design to its fullest in posse to create a really striking big support, so it was crucial I made plain I didn't wear any of the precious mohair.

Antique Japanese Military Helmet - Meiji Period Soldier
Description
This rare and interesting item is a Meiji period (1868-1912) Japanese military helmet, possibly worn by soldiers in the service of the emperor's new Imperial army. The conical shape of this helmet is reminiscent of the straw hats once worn by farmers which are effective in protecting the wearer's head from the effects of outdoor exposure. As a military item this helmet is reinforced with layers of hardened materials forming a fairly strong, yet lightweight piece of headgear suitable for use by foot soldiers (heishi) tasked with walking long distances in the open air.
