It has been a while - the breath of one's nostrils has been busy. Besides the computer provider we have being a puzzle for over a week, I went on a charming stitching departure so I have not been in my studio much. But, I do have lots to distribute today!
Talk of the Common Slender cord, there are two I would like to converse about today. First, there is a cast by Lesley Riley of Quilting Arts hearsay and Art Heart (her blog is listed on the left)....Lesley writes:
"Back in 2005, 25 stupendous artists got together to do a Self-Portraiture collaboration. We each created a daily register that set our theme and was in a way, a self-likeness in itself. Mine was made of fabric of race and my theme was The For the use of all Thread - the slender cord that binds all artists together. I sent a bag of 'threads' along with the volume, asking each designer to incorporate one on their serving-boy. Many chose one of their own, others none. The elegance of a collaboration is in how each artists interprets the subject. As we worked over the years, even the conception of self-picture became stretched and re-interpreted....
