In conclusion I have managed to get my vintage quilt displayed behind our bed. I bought it from a UK vender on eBay before Xmas because I malignant in love with it proximately! It was orginally from America and the vender said it contains some feedsack fabrics. It is all handpieced with no foundations, backed in smooth muslin and palm and fingers quilted with an angle pattern. The blocks are approx 8" x 6.5". I be fond of the eclectic mix of fabrics and some of the undomesticated prints that have been incorporated. I've kept the print quite huge if you click for more detail :)
I'm guessing it was to all appearance made in the 40s or 50s - anyone have any other ideas or info?
It is in fair good situation, with only a couple of liliputian holes, although some of the fabrics have faded badly. I had to transfer the original fillet (which was the backing edifice turned over and stitched to the front) as it was worn to a thread through in places. I added a new band and hanging sleeve in muslin. What info do you exercise the mind I should include on the label?
